Everyone on staff was professional and helpful, and my apartment was cleaned every day. Thanks for making the holiday easy and memorable. I stayed at this clean, pleasant resort right on Morne Rouge Bay beach in apartment #12. It was very functional, with a comfortable bedroom, living room, bathroom, and a full kitchen stocked with the dishes and utensils I needed. The fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and kettle all worked well. The shower was good too, especially the shower head, which has been a problem for me at other resorts. My one small drawback was that the A/C was only in the bedroom. I visited at the end of May, in the off-season, and found the beach clean with a restaurant nearby, though I didn’t use it much. There’s also a FANTAZIA restaurant with a disco, but I didn’t go there either.

The beach is lovely and makes the stay worthwhile, and breakfast was good. The place has an older design that looks like it might be from the 70s. They leave the door open, though, so mosquitoes get into the room.

The room was hard to feel comfortable in, and I was even nervous about taking a shower. It was very unclean, just like the photos, and looked as if they only surface-cleaned. When rooms are vacant, they leave the doors open, so expect lots of bugs. The food was terrible, the bed was hard, and there were strange people living there. They feed the animals at night, so I heard cats crying all night.

We had a great stay at Gem Resort in January 2024 and would come back. The staff were efficient and very helpful. Our apartment was clean and good value, with a balcony and sea views over the rooftops, though the rooms are a bit dated. There’s an on-site restaurant and beach bar with a short menu but good food, plus another independent place next door. The resort is right on Morne Rouge beach, which was one of the best swimming beaches we found. The supermarket is a 20-25 minute walk away. St Georges centre is farther, probably a taxi ride.

Fast, reliable WiFi mattered to me, and Gem had it. The front-desk team were helpful and accommodating, and the place was clean with everything working and in good order. The facility looks a little dated, but for the price I felt I got excellent value. It’s well-priced accommodation near a nice beach with excellent service, and I’d happily stay again on my next visit.
