Lance Aux Epines Cottages

There’s so much wildlife around, including crabs, lizards, hummingbirds, and other birds, and the setting is really beautiful. The rooms are a little dated but perfectly fine, with all the amenities. We were happy here, right on the beach. A few more sunbeds would be nice, and trimming some trees might open up the sunset view from the rooms.

The beach is right there and makes for a very relaxing stay. Food had great flavor, which can be hard to find on the island, and the drinks were amazing. Just be aware, there are lots of mosquitoes at night.

Alisha at the front desk was responsive and helpful, and the cottage was clean and well stocked. The location worked well for exploring the island, with restaurants close enough to walk to, and groceries can be delivered ahead of time. The Sandbar next door was a nice lunch spot, and the airport is nearby. My taxi pickup with Daniel felt very safe. My trip was affected by the airspace closure. I let Alisha know and sent photos of my cancelled flights and the government warning. On arrival, I was told they would discuss it “with management.” Alisha suggested extending my stay, but I explained I had another reservation that could NOT be modified. I felt pressured to extend anyway. When I went to settle the bill, they said I would be charged for 3 nights, even though I stayed only two. There was no help or offer of a future stay, just “no.” The housekeeper also walked in while I was still in my nightgown. No one spoke with me or offered any accommodation. I left feeling very disappointed and negative about the visit. I would have been a repeat guest.

Getting up and taking a dip in the ocean each morning before heading out around the island was amazing. Alisha, Taj, and the rest of the team were extremely nice and provided top notch service. The rooms were very clean and perfectly equipped, and there are a few good restaurants and a convenience store nearby.
