Light House Old City

Sveta and her family made our stay a highlight of our Georgia trip. They welcomed us with cake and wine, helped arrange an amazing sightseeing tour, and even took care of our laundry. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. Their restaurant was so good that we ate every meal there. The value for money is really good. There’s no reason not to stay here.

Svetta is a gracious hostess, even with plenty to keep her busy. We loved the welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and how clean and comfortable everything was. Rabat Castle is only about 100 m away. It’s a budget guesthouse, so don’t expect a plush mattress, a roomy bathroom, or a bathrobe. Svetlana made our stay feel special, and Max, whom she recommended as a taxi driver, gave us a memorable, personalized day trip.

The guest house is in a great spot, right in front of the fortress. We had a reservation at Light House but, for reasons outside our control, had to cancel after the penalty-free deadline. The manager listened to our explanation and kindly waived the cancellation fee. If we come back, I’d definitely stay here.

We arrived late and were welcomed with Georgian cakes and complimentary wine. The owners, a husband and wife, were the most accommodating couple I’ve met at a hotel. We decided to eat there too, and the food was wonderful. It was lovely meeting other travelers over dinner, and later the free wine and Chacha were flowing again.
