Papa Noel Hostel

The breakfast buffet was nice, especially the cake and pancakes made there, and the restaurant area is roomy. The hotel sits high on a hill. Beds were comfortable, and the sheets, blankets, and towels were very clean. There was a kettle, cups, bottled water, tea, coffee, and sugar. The building feels a bit old and some parts need updating. There were no tissues, wastebaskets, or fridge in the rooms, and no air conditioning, though I understand the weather is cold there. Balcony doors need insect screens. There are lots of floors and rooms, so two lifts would be better. Cleaning wasn't very thorough, mostly just replacing toiletries. The Wi-Fi signal was weak. Still, it was a nice place to spend some time.

Breakfast was awful, mostly processed hot dogs, with very little fresh fruit or salad. The hotel was also dirty and dusty. The location wasn't good, and our room had just one mirror, in the bathroom, no extension plug for the TV, and no fridge or tables. The balcony railing was rusty and dangerous for children. When we arrived, nobody was at reception. Staff then came and insisted on holding our passports, which I refused.

There was no internet at all while I was there, which was the biggest issue for me. The rooms were old, with no AC or fan and no safety box. It's far from the centre, and part of the road there wasn't paved. I won't come back.

The views over the mountains and hills are beautiful. Noel is a good choice if you want to unwind somewhere quiet and easygoing.
