White Magnolia leaves me with mixed feelings, beautiful and unsettling at once. From inside, the calm atmosphere and striking sea views make it easy to forget what’s outside and just enjoy the moment. The location is excellent, and those views really stay with you. But the area feels neglected, with dirt and construction waste from a nearby building site. Locals also say the building is a symbol of corruption, which gives the experience a complicated, rather heavy context. You can’t help wishing the surroundings got the same care as the interior. It feels like this place is only at the beginning of its story, and I hope its setting and reputation improve over time to match the beauty within.

Magnolia still draws tourists with its imposing appearance and statues of the armless woman. The building has potential thanks to its prime spot by the boulevard and beach, with panoramic views, but its current condition is a long way from what it promised. When it was built around 2010-2012, its bright white facade stood out along Batumi's coast and suggested a new era of modern seaside development. Over the years, though, the facade has darkened and weathered, and the place looks neglected. It's hard to believe it's barely a decade old; it looks closer to 150 years old and needs restoration. A renovation could bring back its original elegance and help it keep pace with Batumi's changing waterfront.
