I spent four days at Hotel Chao on my first trip to Batumi and was glad I’d chosen it. I was traveling alone and had no problems. The city center is close, and you can reach most things on foot. Levan Bey, George, Shota and Nika at reception were especially helpful. The hotel felt reliable and comfortable, and they made me feel welcome instead of like a stranger.

The breakfast was delicious, and the location near the boulevard is perfect. There’s no sea view, though, and at least my bed was hard as a rock. The beds could use some improvement.

This has become my favorite family hotel in Batumi. I usually stay at Chao when I’m in town, and I’m always met with a friendly welcome and excellent food. Famous people and celebrities sometimes stay here too. They seem to especially like the cuisine and the way the dishes are cooked.

The restrooms were clean, and the hotel has family rooms as well as a conference room. Prices are moderate and include breakfast, though the selection is limited. The staff are polite and speak English and Russian.
