Hills Kvariati Hotel

The rooms and grounds were kept really clean, and the place felt new. Our room had a comfortable bed and a bathroom, though a few more pieces of furniture, maybe chairs or an armchair, would have helped. The walls are thin, so you can hear almost everything from the next room. They only clean your room if you ask, even though the cleaning itself is good. The view is the real draw, it’s magnetic and somehow gives you a lift. Getting there can be tricky: the hotel is over 2 km from the beach, the road was hard to find, and we got lost for half an hour on our first drive. Having a car makes the location workable. Otherwise, the hotel transfer runs from 09:30 to 13:00 and 16:30 to 20:00, which is handy. Tornike, the driver, was especially positive, organized, friendly, kind, and professional. Restaurant service was fine, with hard-working, smiling staff, especially Giorgi. The food was fair for the price, but I’d have liked more choice. There isn’t even pizza on the menu. Staffing was thin elsewhere too: reception was almost always empty, and calls to administration didn’t always get answered, so we usually asked the restaurant staff when we needed something. Still, the clean rooms, pleasant grounds, nice breakfast, helpful people, and incredible view made it a great place to rest. The view makes up for most of the downsides. We’ll definitely return.

The location gave us plenty to do, whether we wanted to hike or spend time by the beach, and there were affordable, useful services around. I came with my family and got to enjoy the holiday while taking some beautiful photos of the surrounding nature. I’ve traveled a lot as a photographer and don’t usually get easily impressed by scenery or hotel service, but Hotel Hills Kvariati really surprised me. The staff looked after guests so well. Breakfast was included, with lots of tasty choices, and the chef’s meals were genuinely flawless, served quickly and warmly. There’s also a huge pool, and the rooms were clean with plenty of personal space.

The hotel itself was fine, but that didn’t help much when the sea was a 30-minute walk away and stray dogs seemed to be trying to attack you the whole way. Don’t consider staying here without a car.

The people here were great, and the hotel is an excellent place to relax. It’s high up in the mountains, with breakfast, a pool, and a transfer to the sea and back. Everything was PERFECT!
