It's peaceful and green here, with birds singing and a little river nearby. Even in the heat, the house stays cool, so we didn't need air conditioning. We really enjoyed staying in this clean, well-kept home, with all the little details thought through for comfort. The hosts met us at the train station and were very pleasant, considerate, and respectful of our privacy. They treated us to Adjarian khachapuri, lobio, fruit, Turkish coffee, and homemade wine. The sea is about a 10-minute walk away, and grocery stores are around 6 minutes on foot. There are also a pharmacy, bakeries, and stalls with fruit and vegetables, fresh village milk, cottage cheese, cheese, and matsoni. The center of Batumi is a 15-minute taxi ride for 6-7 lari, or you can take a minibus. The botanical garden is also nearby. We'd be happy to stay with them again if we're in the area.
