Hotel Aquarius

The location and the view were just super.

We stayed here in September 2019, and it felt like good value, maybe even a bit better than expected. The room had air conditioning, and when we needed a refrigerator, we could use the one by reception. Our room itself had no window or fridge, though. Breakfast was the same each day. The owner was rude. He kept saying he’d take us on a cheaper excursion, show us the wine cellar, sell us wine, or move us to another room, but every promise turned into “tomorrow.” We booked excursions elsewhere, and he was visibly displeased with us for the rest of the stay. Housekeeping came every other day to clean and change the sheets and towels, while rubbish was taken out daily. During a spell of heavy, prolonged rain, they lent us raincoats for walks. If you’re mainly looking for a place to sleep and don’t want to pay too much for a holiday, it’s quite decent. We had what we needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you.

The staff were very friendly, and I really liked the house wine. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the sea, with restaurants nearby and the center close too. The place has all the basics for a comfortable stay, even if it isn’t in perfect shape. For this price, it’s hard to find somewhere better. When you’re visiting Georgia, you’re not going to spend the whole day in the hotel anyway.

This hotel was a complete nightmare and not fit to stay in. The floors were broken, the plumbing was in awful condition, and the outlets were all damaged. There were stains and streaks on the walls. The rooms and hallways stank of people smoking there. The owners just asked what we expected and treated guests in a completely inhuman way.
