Hotel Best Western Premier Batumi

We first stayed here a few years ago, and the service was so good that we’ve come back every year since. The front desk team in particular is excellent, and the whole staff works at a good level, often going beyond what we expect. Whenever we’ve asked for something, the response has been immediate. The rooms are large, have balconies, and are kept clean. Breakfast is good too. We’re always glad to return.

The pool was dirty and noisy, with blurry-looking water and tiles that seemed to be just a mat, not real tiles. Nobody warned us that outside kids would be having swimming lessons there all the time. The bathroom smelled like pee, the key cards expired very quickly, and the Wi-Fi was so bad that streaming a movie wasn’t possible. Downloading a 1 GB file took 20 minutes. Staff were rude, and most didn’t know English or Russian. They also tried to scam us over pizza by charging twice as much.

I wouldn’t have booked or paid for this stay in Batumi if I’d known what the place was really like. They advertise it as a 4/5-star hotel, but I don’t think it’s worth even 1-2 stars. The room was tiny, dirty, and poorly cleaned, and the whole place had a musty, outdated smell despite the high prices. The shower drain had a sharp corner that felt unsafe, almost like you needed shoes to use it. I couldn’t use the A/C because they said it consumed too much electricity. The bellboy was disrespectful and pressured me to tip. Reception staff were rude and discriminatory. I put up a “Do Not Clean the Room” sign, but housekeeping came in and cleaned it anyway. Many of the positive comments seem unreliable. It isn’t worth the money; you can find a much better hotel for the same price.

Beka at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful, and the hotel made us feel at home. The rooms are bright and spacious, and mine had a balcony overlooking the sea. The pool, steam room, and sauna were all included at no extra charge. It’s a quick walk to the attractions too, which made the stay even better. It may not be a luxury five-star hotel, but it checks all the boxes for me. I’ll return.
