The walk to the sea and back was part of our stay, though the uphill climb is steep if you're from the lowlands. At first it felt strange, then we got used to it and really enjoyed it. The sea isn't very close, but the mountains are nearby, and we found the peace, quiet, and fresh air we wanted. Svetlana and Nodari were always there to answer questions and help. They shared fruit from their garden, including the most delicious figs we'd ever tasted. Their warmth made it feel like staying with people close to us. Thank you, dear ones. I hope we can return. I miss you! The house is well built and thoughtfully put together, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a kitchen stocked with what we needed. It was very clean and cozy, and the tangerine orchard was wonderful.

For a break from the city, Anna Guesthouse in Gonio is a good fit. It's up on a mountain, so you can get there by shuttle bus or taxi, or walk if you like a hike. There's fresh air, a garden in the courtyard, and a cross on a nearby mountain. The views from the windows look out to the sea on one side and mountains on the other. The hosts are friendly and sociable, and always ready to help or give advice. The hostess makes delicious cheese from her own milk. The cozy house has a homey feel and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rooms have natural wood furniture, comfortable mattresses and pillows, and there's a kitchen where you can cook. There's a separate entrance, and the second floor can be rented. We have great memories of our stay.

We rented just one room, and that part of the stay was a bad experience. The listing said the bathroom was private, but it's outside the bedroom and other guests can use it too. There was no way to go there without being seen. It also advertised air conditioning, but the only unit is in the living room and serves the whole house. There was no remote, and renting one for a fee felt like a scam. The house was so hot and humid we couldn't sleep and were drenched in sweat, with no fan offered. Outside, construction started in the morning, dogs barked at night, and cars passing under the window kept us awake. We couldn't close the window because of the heat. The landlady constantly monitored the electricity, asking us to switch off lights at night. We had to walk from our room to the kitchen in the dark and were afraid of falling. Even the laptop power adapter prompted a complaint. WiFi was available, but only worked properly in the kitchen, so working from the room in the morning wasn't possible. There's a washing machine, but we weren't offered its use. There was no kitchen bin either, just a small bucket on the terrace for everyone, which we only spotted at checkout. The landlady watched us turn on lights, walk around, go to bed, and checked what we ate and threw away. After I wrote a negative review, she kept bothering me for days to delete it, with threats and attempts to make me feel sorry for her. It was very unpleasant. The house itself wasn't quite as bad as its owners, and if the owner hadn't insisted on deleting my Booking review, I would've rated it a 2 or 3. The entire floor could be comfortable for a group: it has three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and two bathrooms opening onto the living room and kitchen. There's parking for four cars, and the porch and kitchen have excellent sea views. The house is clean, and the beds are comfortable, though short.

Minibus 33 stops right by the gate, so getting up and down is easy when you don't feel like walking the hill. We loved our stay and hope to come back. It's peaceful, away from the highway and bustle, with a lovely garden, a cat, and a friendly dog. The kitchen, living room, and sea-facing terrace are comfortable, and everything is impeccably clean. It feels like relaxing at home. Svetlana is a kind host who shows you around and explains everything. The uphill walk is worth it. Thank you.
