The owner was kind and helpful, and the hostel is close to the sea, Batumi train station, and buses to Tbilisi. But the building is old and badly in need of repairs. There were lots of insects and I got bitten, the floor smelled awful, and cleanliness was very poor. Don’t let the photos fool you. A pretty bad stay.

We were nearly there when the host refused to check me in and told me to cancel my Booking.com reservation, threatening me with a penalty. The whole situation cost us a lot of time. Be careful, you could run into problems. The owner is very unreliable.

The hosts, Dzhemal and Dali, were friendly and ready to help with anything. The house was cozy and clean, just two minutes from the sea and the bus stop. There’s also a market and a restaurant nearby. Great location.
