Kazbegi Hotel

We ended up with Chinese food from a restaurant about three blocks southeast, along with some swim gear from further down the road. The restaurant was amazing, with big glass windows and comfortable leather couches. We ordered Mapo tofu and chili beef, both absolutely scrumptious. I lived in China for a year, and this was better than anything I had there. We took the food back to the hotel, put on some visual material, and ate what little we'd saved to take away. A fun, rewarding experience. Hotel Kazbegi is a typical Georgian hotel in a sheik area of Batumi. Kazbegi street has tourist essentials like convenience stores, second hand clothing shoppes, beauty parlors, and even a book store. Nearby streets have plenty of places to eat and shop, including an excellent traditional sichuan cuisine restaurant across the street and several walkable cafes. It's also close to Europe square and other old town landmarks. We checked in on a random day after staying for a while in an apartment on Parnavaz Mepe street, where the privacy was very nice. The move to the hotel was quick and painless. I booked it on Agoda for around $25 a night. The listing said the room had a bathtub and WiFi, but neither was there. It did have a mini fridge, which worked perfectly for leftovers. If you're nervous about traveling outside the EU or wherever, I think there's a small police station a few doors down. On the lobby level there's a pool and an abandoned restaurant where lots of meals might have been served in the past. Maybe they shut it down because there are so many quick eats around. There's a place to buy a 20 lari Shaurma on every corner, if that's your thing.
