The hosts were so warm, including Nargiz, and Timur sorted out transfers for us and for our friends who had an early flight. He also arranged two Georgia excursions at a good price, cheaper than in Batumi. The sea is about a 5-7-minute walk, and any minibus from the stop gets you to Batumi in 15 minutes. The guesthouse was excellent. Our room had a shower, toilet, and air conditioning, and the towels and bed linen were changed promptly. There’s also a kitchen with a refrigerator where you can cook. I’d recommend Makhinjauri as a base for exploring Georgia. The weather can be rainy at times, but the sea stays warm. We were there in July 2018. Market and shop prices are affordable, although Batumi’s market is cheaper. Everything was great, and I’d love to come back!

The shared kitchen has two refrigerators. The rooms are comfortable and newly renovated, with air conditioning and their own shower and toilet. Everything was clean.
