The staff were friendly, and the location was good.
Cool place.
We had a room on the second floor, which suited us well. Going all the way up to the fourth after a beach day and long walks around this beautiful city would’ve been quite a climb. The staff were friendly, and the homemade breakfasts were delicious every day. The old town location is lovely, with plenty of shops and cafes for different budgets close by. The hotel was clean and neat, with nice furniture, fresh crisp linen, and air conditioning. The plumbing could be better, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker.
It’s clean, and the beach is about a 10-minute walk away. The center takes around 20 minutes to reach. But the rooms are tiny and cramped, and my husband and I kept bumping into each other. The balconies are only big enough to step out onto, with no room to sit or much to look at since another building is right across the way. At night it feels like being on display. There’s no cleaning service or soundproofing. You get two towels, and laundry costs 10 lari. The toilet paper was embarrassingly cheap, worse than anything I’ve seen in the mountains. There’s no kitchen for guests either, just glasses and a couple of plates in the room, without spoons, forks, or a knife. It feels more like a guesthouse charging hotel prices. A large family lives here and uses many of the rooms, and there’s often an unappealing smell of food. Sometimes nobody is at the desk, and when you go looking, you may come across things you’d rather not see. They should do their medical procedures behind a locked door or somewhere outside the hotel.
