Right at the entrance to Old Batumi, Batumi Plaza is handy if you need to pick up basics or do a quick shop. But it feels old and badly maintained. Some parts are worn, several shops seem shut or inactive, and it doesn’t have the modern, well-kept feel of Batumi’s newer malls. Fine for essentials if you’re already nearby, but don’t expect a polished shopping experience. Better upkeep and renovation would make a big difference.

Apr 2022. Locals told us this is one of the best places in Batumi to buy gold or silver jewelry. Sellers can adjust items for an extra fee, and you can bargain with each individual seller. One downside, English communication is very weak.

A lovely local bazaar, especially if you’re looking for jewelry. Much of it is handmade locally, prices are reasonable, and the sellers are very friendly.

Don’t waste your time. It’s a half-destroyed, forgotten place. Maybe it was a plaza back in the USSR days, but now there’s nothing here except a few very old, unattractive jewelry shops.

The place is old, dirty, and noisy, and I found it really confusing. I left frustrated. I wonder when they'll finally fix the escalator!
