The sea and free beach are very close, and the hosts are welcoming. The place is clean and orderly. Rooms on the 3rd floor are better than those on the 1st. Finding the house from the road can be confusing at first. Coming from Kobuleti, take the first easy-to-miss U-turn, then drive back the other way along the street. The house is on the left behind low black gates. Check-in isn’t guaranteed.

We’ve stayed here two years in a row, and this year I brought my children for the whole season. My youngest is two. The location and accommodation price work very well together. The guesthouse is right by the sea, in the suburbs of Batumi. It’s a lovely place for a summer break: clear water, a quiet beach with both pebbles and sand, and you can swim whenever you like without having to go down to the beach. From the terrace, it’s lovely to have coffee and watch dolphins come close to shore. The hosts are welcoming, and everything is clean and tidy.

The hosts are friendly until you make a complaint. Staying on the first floor is uncomfortable, to put it mildly. There are two rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom shared by all floors, with windows facing the dining room. The house is just two meters from the embankment, and to reach the beach you have to cross it quickly because trains can come around the bend without warning. Sleeping through their noise isn’t ideal either.

The rooms are clean, but the listed location in relation to the railway is wrong. The buildings are five meters from the nearest track, and trains do pass, though not often. You can get used to the noise. There’s no air conditioning, and the toilet is shared rather than in the room. Reaching the beach means crossing the railway, which feels dangerous: the tracks run both ways here, visibility is limited, and the crossing is on a bend.
