Gogi Dvalishvili Wine Cellar

Gogi and his wife were such kind, welcoming hosts, and made us a delicious dinner with several kinds of local wine. Breakfast was excellent too. Gogi happily packed up what we couldn't finish to take away. He also showed us his lovely garden and bee farm, which was a unique and enjoyable touch ❤️❤️. We had a fantastic stay at Gogi’s place, and I'd highly recommend it for a warm, authentic, memorable experience.

The cellar was bright, clean, and full of a lovely atmosphere. On my birthday, my wife and I finally visited with our two young children after years of hearing her talk about Gogi Dvalishvili Wine Cellar and the family behind it. Mr. Gogi, his son, and the rest of the family made us feel so welcome. We tasted several wines and heard the stories and history behind them, and got a real sense of Georgian hospitality. Our four-year-old had a great time playing with Mr. Gogi’s nephew, who’s about his age. It felt like a warm little glimpse of village life. For us, the visit was about much more than tasting excellent 100% natural Georgian wines. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to people of any age.

Gogi made us feel at home. He invited us to taste wine, brought out bread and cheese as a surprise, and wouldn’t take any money for it. The room was small but very clean, and breakfast was simple and delicious. We loved staying here and would definitely recommend it.

Dinner was absolutely worth having here. Gogi and his family laid out a table full of delicious food, especially the trout, and breakfast was superb too. The house is spotless, and it sits in a peaceful residential area. Just watch out for the dogs if you’re walking around at night. There’s a personal vineyard, winery, and honey farm, plus lots of books in Georgian in the hall. I found the bathroom a little small. This was one of the best homestays I’ve had in Georgia, and I’d highly recommend it for a stop in Gori or a visit to Uplistshike.
