Hotel Geography Hotel

The view from my room was fantastic, and being close to the ski slopes in old Gudauri was really convenient. I loved the food and the different choices each day, as well as how helpful the staff were. This hotel was definitely the highlight of my trip to Gudauri.

We spent seven nights here. Our room was spacious and tidy, with a wide balcony and a great mountain view. The reception and restaurant/bar staff were friendly and helpful, and they're a big reason I'd recommend the place. The sound insulation in the room, though, was quite terrible.

I had expected more after reading the good reviews. The facilities were so-so, and both breakfast and dinner were bad. The food was the same every time, whether you arrived as soon as service started or right at the end. There's no sauna, and they suggested a spa at a nearby hotel for over 300 GEL. Staff didn't seem very knowledgeable. I booked at the last minute, but I bet you can find a much better hotel for the same price.

The private rooms were welcoming, modern, and well maintained by excellent housekeeping. We also liked the affordable price. But the lack of a calm shared space took a lot away from the stay. On Christmas morning, December 25, my wife and I went into the dining hall at 8:45 am. It had rustic wooden tables, leather sofas, and a snowy mountain view, just right for a quiet coffee in Gudauri. Instead, loud electronic dance music was playing, with tracks by Feezz and Loverground. I politely asked the staff to put on something more seasonal or peaceful. They switched briefly to non-seasonal elevator jazz, then went back to the disruptive beats of JD and So Inagawa. Other guests in Christmas sweaters were also trying to have a peaceful breakfast with the view, but the music kept driving people out as soon as they finished eating. By 11 am, my wife and I were the only ones left in the large dining room. When I asked again if they could lower or turn off the music, they said, "This is our time. Come back at 3 pm." We were made to leave the only common area besides a small, busy lobby. The evening meal on our second night was a pleasant surprise: soft piano and jazz were playing, and it made things much better. The same music continued at breakfast the next day. Still, one dining staff member was especially rude to my wife, giving her disgusted looks because she'd brought cup noodles into the dining hall to eat alongside breakfast.
