The reception and housekeeping teams were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout, and the restaurant staff were just as welcoming and attentive, working hard with warm smiles from morning until night. Breakfast was fairly good and satisfying. The a la carte restaurant menu focused mostly on standard Georgian dishes, with limited choices for international travelers. There’s an outdoor kids’ play area, and a supermarket about a 10-minute walk away. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Marco Polo Hotel, Gudauri, thanks in large part to the staff and convenient location. Check-in was slightly delayed. Our junior suite was comfortable, though it didn’t quite feel at a typical five-star level. The sofa bed downstairs was very uncomfortable and made sleeping difficult. A couple of things to know: extra water bottles ordered through room service cost money, which seemed unusual compared with many other five-star hotels. Guests can request extra water from housekeeping during the day for free. There are no fresh-air ducts in the rooms, which might bother some guests, especially at night in winter, when you can’t leave the balcony door open while it’s snowing. Room comfort and dining variety could be improved.

Ani, the Front Reception Manager, deserves special thanks for handling my misplaced watch with such care. As soon as I asked about it, he took the matter seriously, kept in touch, and followed up until it was safely handed over to my friend. His professionalism and willingness to help made a lasting impression. We spent one night at Marco Polo Hotel in Gudauri and had a pleasant, memorable stay. The hotel sits among beautiful snow-covered mountains, with stunning views all around and a peaceful but lively atmosphere from the skiing nearby. Our room was comfortable, service was smooth, and everything felt well managed and welcoming. Thanks to Ani and the whole Marco Polo team for the hospitality. I’d recommend the hotel for skiing, scenery, and a comfortable stay.

The helpful, professional staff made our ski trip so much better. The locker attendant even remembered us and which locker to open and close without being told. It’s ski-in/ski-out, with a very good breakfast and lots of choices. There’s a warm outdoor pool, an indoor pool, a sauna and steam room, plus massage options. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were clean. But the restaurant felt overpriced for lunch and dinner, and the food quality was uneven, with some dishes we didn’t enjoy. We had trouble choosing the right room setup for our large group, and it’s inconvenient for international travelers that quick bookings can only be made by phone. The rental shop was poorly stocked and nearly out of equipment. Our spa visit also left a bad impression. The bathrobes were in poor condition and the slippers very thin. After ours got wet on the way to the outdoor pool, the spa staff wouldn’t give us fresh pairs. I recommend bringing your own pool shoes. We also had an unpleasant interaction with a lobby employee named Ani. Bottled water is complimentary during room cleaning, but she refused to give us a bottle when we asked. Another staff member gave us one later without any problem. The encounter felt extremely unprofessional.
