Rider's House

The people really made our stay at Riders Hostel special. My boyfriend and I felt a bit like we were on a school trip with friends, and we met lots of interesting people. Everyone was kind and ready to help, from advice about ski rentals to tips on the best slopes. Most people spoke English, which made things easier. The atmosphere was social but still calm, since people went out into town rather than having loud parties inside, and quiet hours were respected. Getting onto the slopes is so easy. The hostel is right by the ski pass point and the start of the runs, and you can ski almost all the way back, just a few meters from the accommodation. Rentals are nearby, and you can rent a snowboard at the hostel too. We found the kitchen well equipped enough, with basics like salt, spices, and buckwheat, and there was room for our food in the fridge. It was cleaned regularly, which you don't always see in hostels. There's also a shop close by. The terrace has an outdoor gym that's handy for stretching after skiing. If I got the schedule right, they also have movie screenings every week, which sounds like a nice extra. It's a hostel, so the setup is simpler than a hotel, and someone looking for a completely anonymous, hotel-like stay might not enjoy the community feel. For us, though, the friendly crowd and comfortable atmosphere made it a place we'd gladly recommend. We had a great time and will definitely come back.
