White Shino Hostel

A very friendly hostel, with breakfasts and reasonably priced coffee. It’s a convenient location: a four-minute walk gets you to the route down to the second stage, and there’s also a way to descend back to the hostel straight from the slope. Thanks a lot for the help.

The slope is right there, so I could get geared up in the morning and head straight out. White Shino also has lovely people and really good food, and it’s easy to make friends, which worked great for me traveling solo. I really enjoyed my stay. One small thing for management: a curtain in the shower in room 5 would help keep the whole bathroom from getting wet ;-) Cheers, Leon.

The common room was really comfortable, and the downstairs bar and dining space made a nice spot for apres. WiFi was hit and miss outside the shared areas. Location-wise, you can ski in, though skiing out takes a short walk, so it’s ideal if you have your own gear. George makes a simple, tasty breakfast, and the lunch and dinner options are also uncomplicated but delicious. The wine is homemade and very good. Respect the chacha! There are a few restaurants nearby if you want something different without going to the main ski village. That village is about a 20-minute walk for the evening, or a taxi is around 20 GEL, probably the better choice since the road is scary. For the price, it’s well worth it. I’d stay again.

It’s a good place for the price and an easy spot to meet people. But room n°12 was very cold, and there was no WiFi in there, so I’d ask for a different room. I stayed for a week, and the housekeeping was a real problem. I was the only woman among a lot of men, and the toilets were extremely disgusting. They didn’t clean the bathroom even once while I was there, which made it a challenge to use. The bedroom was similar at times, with people leaving trash that nobody came to pick up.
