Nugo Hotel

The place is really great.

The hosts are friendly, easy to talk to, and ready to help with anything. The homemade food is delicious, and you definitely won't go hungry. This is a simple guesthouse, not a luxury hotel, so I'm rating it on that basis. There's Wi-Fi, working air conditioning, and hot water all day and night. The linens are clean and changed when you ask. Guests share balconies and a kitchen on the floor, with dishes and a fridge available. There's a washing machine, though you'll need to bring or buy toilet paper and a towel. The rooms are generally clean, but there are several small problems: missing bulbs, burnt outlets, a broken toilet flush button, and a broken shower head. That may be down to how previous guests treated the place.

We didn't enjoy this guesthouse. The rooms are small but okay, and the breakages aren't a big deal. You get just one roll of toilet paper, and while there's a washing machine, you need your own detergent and clothespins. There's a mop in the hallway if you want to clean, but no detergent or dishes, and the toilet always smells bad. The food was awful and there's not enough for adults, let alone children. They call it a buffet, but it's one hot dish, sour cream, and the same salad. They might serve pilaf in the morning and stuffed peppers made from leftovers at night, or sausages in the morning and something like mashed potatoes with sausage later. The staff always seemed dissatisfied. We'd have been better off booking a cheap room without meals and going out to eat.

Google Maps in Georgia, especially around Kobuleti, is a mess. Locations show up in the wrong places, and the timeline is full of errors. Another guesthouse that's marked on the map as a kilometer away is actually here. The country seems to fall outside Google's time and space.
