Mountain Cabins Mini-hotel

I wish we’d booked more nights. This is such a peaceful, beautiful spot, with clouds, green fields, and forested mountains all around. It’s very high up, and the air gets especially cool after rain. The wooden cabins are in Mestia, and the staff are cheerful, friendly, and happy to suggest activities if you ask.

The owners met us in the village and brought us up to our cabin on the hill. It’s only a three-minute drive from the center of Mestia, but well away from the main road, so there’s no traffic noise and the mountain views are hard to beat. Two women looked after us with a warm smile, sorting out food, coffee, chairs, and whatever else we needed. They seemed genuinely happy to see us enjoying their cooking, which was delicious and came in generous portions. Our cabin was small, with two separate beds and a bunk with two little beds. There was a closet, a clean toilet with hot water, and a heater for the toilet in winter. There’s also a wine bar on the property where you can have a cigar with your wine. Not much else in the way of activities.

We stayed for two nights in July, and the weather was just right, warm in the day and cool at night. The cabins were clean and very cozy. The owners don’t speak English, but they made an effort to communicate with Google Translate and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is 15 GEL per person. We were glad we stayed.

The place has a cozy layout and a great setting, and the WiFi worked well when I needed to get some work done. There’s no fridge or washing machine, but that didn’t matter to me with a location like this.
