Hotel Hameau Mukhrani

After a long, rainy drive from Kakheti, this was just what we needed. The Swedish spa and cold plunge were a great extra. The European-style interiors feel refined but still welcoming, and the hospitality was top-notch. We also really enjoyed the flavorful local Georgian dishes. Highly recommended!

The meals were a real highlight, made with fresh local ingredients and rooted in Georgian cooking. Breakfast was hearty, and we had the best Khachapuri we tried in Georgia. After two nights, we left with a lovely impression of Hameau Mukhrani. We arrived after a chilly, adventurous trip through Georgia’s mountains and found a warm welcome. The staff knew the area well, shared useful tips for exploring Mukhrani, and were always friendly. Our room had rustic touches alongside modern comforts, with thoughtful decor that gave it a sense of place without losing its luxurious feel. Set in the quiet, historic village of Mukhrani, the hotel offered a peaceful break after our snowy travels. The surrounding scenery was picturesque, and it felt like a comfortable oasis with local charm. After a full day driving from Batumi in rainy weather, this was a lovely place to relax. The local Georgian food was delicious, and the staff were so friendly they made us feel like royalty. The European-style decor has a charming, homey feel. There’s also a Swedish spa with a cold bath. Hameau Mukhrani is a hidden gem with a bit of luxury.

The breakfast was very nice, though it only starts at 9am, which may work fine for some. The young woman at reception and young man in the restaurant were both really friendly. These problems seem to come from management, not the staff. It’s a lovely little hotel just a few minutes from Chateau Mukhrani, but the facilities were disappointing for a property owned by Chateau Mukhrani. The bedroom and shower room smelled bad from the drains. In my experience living in Georgia for several years and staying in many areas, missing water traps in the plumbing are a common problem in hotels and guest houses. We also had no shower water at first. Once it was fixed, only cold water came through. We were told to let the tap run for a long time because the pipes were long and it was a village, but it took at least five minutes. When several guests were showering, there wasn’t enough water pressure. The cleaner also left just one towel for two people.
