Hotel Emocia

We spent about GEL 120 for three adults and a child, and it felt well worth it. The food was fresh and really good, and the staff were super friendly. It’s a beautiful, clean, well-kept place with lovely garden seating outdoors, perfect for a relaxing lunch and some scenery on the way to Gudauri. Such a nice surprise. Highly recommended!

We showed up without a plan one evening and were able to get a standard room easily. The furniture was a little out of style, but the room was clean. After showering, the boiler lost a lot of water, so it seemed to have a problem. At the restaurant, the waitress was patient and really nice. We enjoyed the food, and the garden was thoughtfully designed.

We’d booked an apartment for three days at $100 per day, along with use of the restaurant. I made the reservation a month ahead for 6 pm today, for an apartment with an indoor swimming pool. I called the hotel administration beforehand to confirm we were coming and check that everything was in order. They assured me it was. But when my husband and I arrived, the administrator said the previous guests had left the apartment very dirty, so they had to clean it thoroughly, including the pool. They said there might be a slight chlorine smell, which would be understandable around either an indoor or outdoor pool. When we looked, though, the pool water was green, really green. We said we couldn’t stay and asked whether another option at the hotel was possible. The administrator couldn’t find anything better than an apartment costing 130 lari, in awful condition, with a garden. We declined. If the previous guests had left the apartment in such a terrible state, why couldn’t the administrator take a minute to check the other reservations for that day and call us? (She definitely knew about the problem before we arrived.)

The service was nice, the food was good, and the music was nice too.
