Boutique Hotel BelleVue

The room was simple but spacious, with good Wi-Fi and complimentary tea and coffee. Free wine tasting was available, too. It was a peaceful place to unwind, with a stunning view of the Alazani Valley from the balcony: vineyards rolling toward distant mountains beneath a huge open sky. The receptionist was incredibly kind. Even with the language barrier, she paused her work to make sure we were comfortable and called a taxi for us, patiently helping us communicate with a smile. Her care made us feel genuinely welcome. Hotel BelleVue in Sighnaghi has a beautiful setting and warm hospitality. It’s a great option if you’re visiting the area.

There were only a few parking spots next door, but the location itself was good. That’s about all I can praise. This was one of the most expensive places we stayed in Georgia, and also the worst breakfast of our trip. We arrived one rainy, cold evening in late October to find our room cold and damp. The bathroom fan didn’t work, and an owner's relative was the only person there to meet us. We weren’t told anything. The next morning someone mentioned that the A/C could warm the room a little. When we asked why it hadn’t been turned on before we arrived, we got no answer. We spent the night freezing in a wet room, even the toilet paper was damp. There’s a metal ladder in the hotel, and every single step carries through the building. You can also hear people moving things in the rooms or restaurant. What upset us most was getting no apology when we explained our experience to the woman at reception. Since we were the only guests that night, they could at least have put us in a room with a working fan. It would have been less damp inside.

The owner, Ilya, was absolutely lovely, and the food was inspired. Try the French breakfast. BelleVue was a wonderful find, with a view that really is second to none. My room and bathroom were spotless, and the bathroom was the nicest hotel one I’d had in a while. Such a lovely stay!

This was our second time here, and the hospitality was just as incredible as before. Sinaghi is a lovely city, and the hotel has a beautiful view of the valley. A swimming pool should be ready this summer. Staying here gave us one of our best memories of Georgia.
