Kabadoni Boutique Hotel

The room was big and luxurious, with a great view, and the hotel was beautiful. The swimming pool and spa were out of service during my visit in April 2025, sadly. Still, it was good value for the price and I’d very much recommend it.

I had a very pleasant stay at Kabadoni Boutique Hotel, probably the nicest hotel in central Sighnaghi. They kindly upgraded me to a spacious terrace room with a bathtub, which I really appreciated. I skipped the pool because the water felt a bit colder than I expected at 27°C, though the view from there was great.

The paint smell during check-in was extremely strong, and I developed allergic rhinitis because of it. We asked to change rooms, but staff said none were available, which was confusing since they’d first asked us to move at check-in. They didn’t seem accommodating, warm or understanding. There was painting going on at the time. We stayed for two nights, and the room was cramped, with an old TV that didn’t work, a broken shower head, and very poor, unreliable Wi-Fi. We told the staff about the TV but got no action or updates during our stay. There was no kettle, which is a basic amenity if you want tea or coffee. The place felt very old, and there was nothing luxurious about it. For the price and the boutique, four-star expectations, it fell far short. Breakfast was very limited, and none of the items were labelled, so it was hard to tell what was being served. We don’t understand why it’s classified as four-star, and the stay didn’t justify the cost.

The pool was why we came, but it was broken again just before our arrival, as other reviews had said. The restaurant and wine bar were closed too. The spa was shut, though they offered to turn on the sauna if we wanted. They said we’d be upgraded to the best room, but honestly, it was probably the same room we’d have had anyway. This hotel wasn’t worth it, which is a pity in such a beautiful town. I’d rather stay at a local winery that offers rooms, keeps a fire going and makes you feel like family.
