I had to find somewhere else to stay for my trip to Signaghi. The hostess stood me up and wasn't available on check-in day, and I got no reply when I tried to contact her. The place was filthy, with piles of dirty clothes, full ashtrays, beds left slept in and unmade, and a total mess. The host offered no explanation. Horrible!
There was a musty smell in the room, cobwebs on the ceiling, and insects crawling around. The old beds had mesh springs. The inside doors wouldn't shut properly, and the toilet and shower doors didn't even close all the way. There were no locks or even latches. After every use of the toilet, you had to lift the tank lid and adjust the float. The street is secluded and muddy with gravel, and the garden below the terrace was messy.
A beautiful hotel, very nice.
