Kazbegi Cottages

We were there with my wife in late October 2018. The atmosphere with the other guests was nice, and breakfast was good. Each room is its own cottage, so you get privacy. Lela, the owner’s sister, was very hospitable and friendly, and always happy to chat. A very nice place to stay. The only small issue for us was that the mattress felt a bit too soft.

The owner was easy to communicate with and helped with lots of my questions. I accidentally left my hairdryer in the cottage, and she sent it to me in Tbilisi free of cost. The place is close enough to walk around the centre, with a common area where guests can eat and relax. You can cook in the kitchen, and there’s a barbecue spot too. My room was cozy, the bed very comfortable, and it had good heating and hot water in the bathroom. Lovely mountain views, and when weather permits, you can see mount Kazbegi.

The rooms were cozy, clean and warm, and the owner replied very quickly and accepted our cancellation of one night. The cleaner was lovely and very helpful, and she speaks Turkish. There aren’t facilities or amenities like coffee or tea, and the toilet had a water problem. That could be better. Thanks anyway.

The beds were so bad that I chose the floor instead. The mattress was far too soft, and for a $55-a-night hotel in Georgia, it felt overpriced and uncomfortable. The place itself is lovely, but the beds will wreck your back. Do yourself a favor and don't book here.
