Mount Kazbek was visible from the window, which was a real plus. Still, after spending seven days here as five people renting the whole apartment, we probably wouldn't return to Stepantsminda and would look elsewhere next time. The kitchen had very little for cooking: just one huge pot and a small frying pan. And throughout the week, nobody offered to change the bed linen. We had to keep asking for toilet paper, and one roll a day wasn't enough for five people. The biggest problems were in the bathroom. The shower, toilet, and sink are all in the same room, with no enclosure or even a barrier to stop water and soap from spreading across the floor. There are two floor drains, but the shower drain sits higher than the floor, so water runs toward the other one, including the drain by the toilet. On the second day, the shower and its stand came away from the wall. Water also went out from time to time, and the owners hadn't left any reserve. Even a few five-liter containers would have helped. Without water, you couldn't make tea in the morning, and the toilet cistern would be empty too. There is parking inside the house, but only for one car.
