I was met by a woman who brought me here, even though I hadn’t booked ahead. The bus station is about a 5-10 minute walk away, and the room cost 20 for the night. It was set up as a dorm, but I had it to myself. The beds are comfortable and the WiFi was decent. The water occasionally stopped working, though I can’t say whether that was the hostel or the town. The shower holder was broken, so I had to hold the head in one hand while washing with the other. Fine for a few nights.

We stopped here for a night on the way to the sea, and the room had what we needed. The mountain view from the balcony was lovely. The shower was the one hassle: its flow-through heater is quite far away, and the water kept swinging between scalding hot and cold.

The room felt clean and cozy, with WiFi, hot and cold water, and its own shower and toilet inside. From the balcony you can sip tea and look out at the mountains, with magnificent Mount Kazbek visible from the window. The yard is full of gorgeous lilacs, and the hostess is kind and sociable.
