Adam Boutique Hotel

We booked King Tom, but two days before we arrived the manager messaged me on WhatsApp to say there was a pipe problem, so they moved us to Hotel Boutique Adam. I didn’t feel the replacement matched the standards I’d paid for. We were put in a cold basement room and had to keep the air conditioning running. The beds only had thin covers, no duvets. Over our four days, our towels weren’t changed and we weren’t given more toilet paper. Nobody cleaned the room either, which made it feel more like a hostel than a hotel. 😂 The shower was open, so the whole bathroom got wet every time we used it. There was nowhere for the water to drain or collect, and we had to mop it up with the same towels that weren’t replaced. There wasn’t even a bin in the room, so we used shopping bags for rubbish. 🤦‍♂️ Breakfast ran only from 9:00 to 10:00. If you had a trip planned or wanted to head out early, you missed the breakfast you’d paid for. I’ve been to 43 countries and never complained about a hotel before. The burst pipe at the other hotel wasn’t the owner’s fault, so I probably wouldn’t have written this review, but we’d been told Georgians are hospitable and kind, and we felt like intruders here. No one at reception ever greeted us with “good morning.” We always said it first, and got very dry replies. That felt strange to us, since we’re positive people and try to smile at everyone.
