Country House Uliana Guest House

The apartment was spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated, and the whole place sits among beautiful nature. Uliana is a wonderful cook, so ask for breakfast and dinner. She makes traditional and more creative local food with fresh ingredients from the garden. We also loved the homemade wine, preserves, and compote, some of which you can buy to take home. There are hammocks on the terraces and plenty of relaxing spots in the lush gardens, with a natural spring for swimming on hot days. The sunset views are lovely, and the property is full of fruit trees, grapes, and sweet animals, including bunnies, kittens, dogs, quails, pheasants, and sheep. Such a welcoming local family. This was our favorite place and family on our whole trip to Georgia, and I can’t recommend it enough.

We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks, swimming in the natural spring, and playing with the cats, dogs, and rabbits. Uliana & Gena also showed us around their permaculture projects and the produce they’re growing, and shared helpful tips for local attractions. The setting is quiet and surrounded by nature, the homemade food is fresh and delicious, and the hosts are lovely. Definitely order breakfast and dinner. My partner and I found this the most welcoming family and best guesthouse we’ve stayed at, and I’d recommend it to anyone. You can also book dinner there without staying overnight, just call ahead to reserve.

We were so relaxed here that we added a few days to our trip. The photos really don’t capture the peace and stillness of the land or all the small details. It was a wonderful, quiet stay. The entire second floor of a huge mansion is a private, sunny apartment with its own entrance. It has a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, all spacious, with high ceilings and a romantic feel. Everything was sparkling clean, and the furniture was new or very well cared for. The new kitchen has the basics for cooking, and its sofa can serve as another bed. The bedroom bed was very comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly on warm days. The internet was quite good, making it a nice spot to work, write, or gather your thoughts. Phones worked well, but there aren’t cell towers nearby, so you may sleep more deeply. We always check prices in advance, and everything quoted was clear and fair. Uliana and Gena were friendly and helpful, took us on a few excursions, and their gentle presence added to the positive feeling of the stay. Public transport is only a few minutes’ walk away if you want to get around on your own. Just watch out for their little son Micha, he’ll steal your heart.

We found it a great place to relax while exploring Georgia. The hosts are very warm and can recommend sights or arrange tours, and dinner was both delicious and healthy. The house is comfortable, with large rooms and everything a family might need for a vacation. Highly recommended.
