We booked through bookings.com, but when we arrived the place was completely shut and looked nothing like the photos. The area in front of the building was closed to the public because they were building a promenade farther along toward the beach. The owner said on the phone he could come open it for us, but we’d have to wait: the hotel was closed until the promenade was finished and summer arrived. Why wasn’t that mentioned when we booked? There wasn’t even a restaurant or shop open anywhere. The sanatorium next door made the whole thing almost funny, but what a disappointment.

I only visited in the evening, so that’s the experience I can speak to. The sunset was breathtaking, and seeing the magnetic particles in certain light was amazing.
