We enjoyed the village, especially the traditional food at other places nearby. We liked edelweiss a lot. This stay, though, was disappointing and overpriced compared with other places in the village. The lady spoke hardly any English, and dinner on our first evening cost far too much for what we got. Breakfast was a mixed bag: the small pancakes were tasty, but most of the rest wasn't. On our last night she asked us to switch rooms because of a reservation mistake. Apparently she'd promised our so-called luxury room to other guests. They were given the key to one bathroom, leaving us to share the other with everyone else. And one of us nearly broke some bones when a plastic chair in the garden lost a leg as they sat down.

We were glad to leave the next day. In a place with four rooms, there were only two toilet-and-shower cabins, and the shower soaked everything, toilet included. On our last night, a couple booked the 'comfort room', and one cabin was closed off for the other three rooms. The room called luxury only had a window to the outside; the regular rooms had none. Even that luxury bed was so-so at best. The staff arranged a marshrutka to Mestia for GEL 150 for the whole car. We agreed to that price, but then they picked up other people and charged us more, instead of reducing our share. They also don't speak English, despite the booking website saying otherwise. Dinner was disappointing too. We'd traveled quite a bit before arriving and agreed when they asked if we wanted to eat there. For GEL 20 each, you can get a good meal around the corner, so we regretted it. Breakfast was pasta, French fries, rice, and other things we'd had in Georgia before, but the quality was poor. The bread improved when we asked, changing from 'western factory style' to fresh Georgian bread, and the eggs were fine. The place promises more than it can provide, and it's way too expensive for what you get. I'd stay somewhere else.

The food was good, and the place is nice, though a bit away from the main area. The outdoor scenery and garden are lovely, a nice spot to share tea with the owners.

The hosts are quick to respond, and the owner himself will drive you up the Inguri River to the foot of Mount Shkhara for just 80 lari. It's a scenic ride that runs practically along the river, with stunning mountain views!
