The elder man on staff was polite and helpful, but my 2023 stay was a total disaster. The rooms were dirty, smelly and hadn’t been cleaned at all. I even saw a cockroach on the wall. Calling this a 2-star standard in the Google description doesn’t seem right, and I really can’t recommend it. I’d stayed here twice before, in 2013 and 2015, when it was a pleasant, simple but clean place.
The bathrooms were very good, with a terrific hot shower, and the people were friendly and helpful. This is a no-frills hotel right along the main road, which stays busy around the clock, so light sleepers should keep that in mind. When we visited, dinner and breakfast weren’t available. We paid 50 GEL for one night in low season. A good option for cyclists heading to Shatili.
We stopped here for lunch and a break during the drive from Gudauri to Tbilisi. The food was decent and reasonably priced.
The prices were a little low, and the rooms were also a bit below par. Otherwise, things were more or less okay.
Wishing you good luck!
