Hotel Mars

The room and bathroom were large and clean, and there was a little balcony looking over the street. The location is right in the city center, behind the city hall, and within walking distance of the palace and botanical gardens. Still, I could barely shower in the morning because the water was only lukewarm. Breakfast was supposed to be at the restaurant next door. We arrived at 9, but no staff were there yet. When they did show up, they were rude, especially the barman. It’s a shame Zugdidi doesn’t have better hotels. Hopefully that improves as tourist numbers grow.

I only stopped to ask for directions, since I wasn’t staying there. The staff spoke both languages, treated me extremely well, and even found my hotel for me. It’s up a flight of stairs, across from McDonald's. If I’m in Zugdidi again, I’ll definitely call them.

I liked the host, George, so much that I gave it 5. He’s very polite, friendly, and nice. We talked and laughed, and got to practice a little German. Wishing you all the best, and hope your plans come true. Be where you want to be!

The hosts were lovely, and Mendzeli, the restaurant next door, serves breakfast and dinner with delicious, spicy Georgian dishes. The hotel is small and sweet, right in the center of Zugdidi, about 10 minutes from the railway station and a 5-minute walk from Dadiani Palace and Zugdidi botanical garden. The room I had came with a big double bed, but no closet or shower curtain. If you’re staying for a few days, you have to ask for the room to be cleaned.
