Hotel Mercure Kourou Ariatel

The grounds are beautifully manicured, and service was awesome, especially from the food and beverage team. Angela was an excellent hostess for our group. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable. The hot water could have been better, though. It was usually warm at best.

We had dinner out both nights, which worked perfectly for us. The service at the hotel was iffy, but Giovanni, the front desk manager, was very helpful in sorting out the room issues. The deluxe room was lovely and had a balcony. There’s a great breakfast buffet, and the beautiful pool area is surrounded by lush gardens. It’s one of the nicest hotels in Paramaribo, in lush surroundings.

The service was top-notch, which you’d expect at these premium prices. The place feels high-end but low key. I’d have given it five stars if the air conditioning unit hadn’t dripped water all the time. I also hate having to close the bathroom door to use the toilet.

The staff were very professional and friendly, and the bungalows were nice. There’s a big swimming pool, a good breakfast, and the restaurant’s pizza and exotic ice cream were delicious. It’s a perfect lakeside stay if you want to visit the space center or the Papillion islands. It’s the best place to stay in Kourou for that.
