Hechtech House

I loved the house and the staff. It was comfortable and relaxed there. The owner’s behavior, though, made me feel uneasy. One evening he yelled at the young female staff member for about an hour, speaking to her in a really personal and rude way. We and the other guests were very worried about her. Whatever the issue was, that wasn’t okay. I wouldn’t stay again because of how the owner behaved. It’s really sad.

We stayed in April 2025, and David and the staff were kind and helpful throughout. We really liked the Osu location and would gladly return.

The staff were accommodating, and the house has a lovely garden in a central but peaceful part of Accra. Our room was very comfortable, with lots of thoughtful little design touches. On New Year’s Day they greeted us with homemade soup and snacks. We only wish we’d had more time there. Thank you!

After nearly seven weeks here, it started to feel like home. The staff-made breakfast was delicious, and there’s a shared space and a garden. They also sell drinks, do laundry, and have security at night, which made the stay convenient. David was friendly and helpful, and the staff regularly checked that I was doing all right. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and Oxford Street, with its lively atmosphere and big supermarket, is nearby. This was my first visit to Africa and Ghana, and I’d definitely stay here again.
