Coco Beach Resort, before the Ramada times, was where I met my wife 35 years ago. It's a real shame to see such a great spot and venue in this state. Locals told me it has been closed for 8 years. The place is completely shut and falling apart, being eaten away by the salt air and sea. Anything that wasn't tied down has been taken, though some employee records and customer feedback paperwork were left behind.

The views are great and the grounds are spacious, but the customer service is seriously lacking and a lot in the rooms doesn't work. Several function rooms sit unused and are poorly maintained. The hotel has real potential if an investor overhauls the whole place. Judging by its current state, the photos must be from years ago when it was still in decent shape.

I went for a swim after not visiting in about 2 years, and was disappointed by how much the place had deteriorated. The pool water looked dirty, and its tiles were grimy and rusty. The beach beds around it were broken, and the mattresses were worn out. I don't know what happened over those two years, but this will be my last visit unless they take much better care of things.

The kitchen staff weren't trained well enough to answer my questions, so I had to go back several times. They also got the bill wrong for a basic half and half pizza. The place needs a lot of repairs, and if the pictures had been current, I wouldn't have expected so much.

The staff were really polite and helpful, and the place itself is beautiful. The food tasted good, but took ages to arrive and the portion was tiny, like it was meant for a baby. I stayed until night and got attacked by mosquitoes from every direction, it was like an army. Maybe that's just because it's by the beach, but I've never seen so many at once. And those washing rooms were disgusting. With such a beautiful beach, it was so disappointing to find washing rooms that felt so low class. I needed to pee but couldn't bring myself to use one.
