Lake Point Guest House

We hardly saw anyone else there, so the lakeside grass beach was wonderfully quiet. The lake looked beautiful and seemed clean and safe for swimming. I'm from the Netherlands and I swam without dying. For about 9 euros per person per night, we got two spacious lodges for four people total, each with a private bathroom and a huge bed. It's a real bargain. Service was the weak point. The staff weren't rude, but could be incompetent, didn't always understand dishes on their own menu, and had run out of more than half the listed options. When we asked for another toilet roll, they gave us a piece of lined paper to write on. Patience helps when explaining what you need.

At least the garden was nice. The rest of the stay was unpleasant. The beds were uncomfortable, with old, worn-down mattresses, and the lighting was poor. The restaurant had few choices and the food was overpriced. The hotel arranged a wildlife guide for the lake, but the US$50 fee for 40 minutes felt too high. The guide wasn't local, and we didn't see anything. There was no hot water. Worse, water in the room was often unavailable at night and sometimes during the day. Manager Ben defended this policy and wouldn't turn it on. He was a bit rude and arrogant, wouldn't let me speak to the owner, and became aggressive.

The journey along the road is an adventure in itself, but the scenery, nature, and beach when you arrive are magical. The workers were nice and the food was delicious. Pool fans can also keep busy with the pool table, so enjoy your stay and stay positive😊☺

It's quiet, with nice surroundings, though a little remote in a way that's still acceptable. The rooms need renovating. A standard bungalow now costs 105 cedi, while the price listed on the website was out of date.
