I felt well looked after from check-in onward. The arrival process was quick and easy, and the staff made a point of welcoming me and explaining what was available around the property. My room was spacious, stylish, and spotless, with a very comfortable bed, soft robes, plush towels, and thoughtful extras. I could sit on the balcony overlooking lush gardens, or the sea depending on the room, and have a peaceful morning coffee. Breakfast was one of the best spreads I’ve tried, with fresh local flavors alongside familiar favorites, all high quality and nicely presented. The on-site dining had plenty of choice without feeling overpriced. Hotel Aurora has a calm, elegant feel that’s still welcoming. The lounge was a nice place to unwind, and there was also a pool and nearby trails to explore. Beaches and nature spots were easy to reach, while town attractions were still close enough. The whole break felt effortless and well planned. Hotel Aurora exceeded my expectations and deserves its five stars. I’d happily return and recommend it for a memorable stay.

There’s a small Thai restaurant a few doors away with great food, but the hotel is surrounded by little industrial buildings and workshops. It’s a walk to the center of Nuuk, though bad weather would make that inconvenient. I didn’t know Nuuk and hadn’t realized this when I booked. The hotel itself is modern, quiet, and comfortable. My room was clean, I slept very well, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The lobby is practical, with plenty of tables and chairs for waiting around with friends. My room got warm, but the windows opened smoothly to let in fresh air. You can ask in advance for a baby crib, and they’ll set it up in the room. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Nuuk Centre mall, so it isn’t downtown or near the bars. The hotel is in an industrial area, with a Subaru dealership, a Cross Fit gym, and lots of seacans nearby. I stayed here first when Nuuk airport closed in August 2024 and Air Greenland put us up for the night. The front desk staff were very kind and let me use the freezer to keep my muktaaq frozen. I came back in October 2025 and had a very pleasant stay.

Anita and Klaus, the proprietors, were welcoming, kind, generous, and attentive to requests and details. They were focused on giving great service. The staff were warm, engaging, courteous, and responsive, from the people preparing the generous early breakfast to those at reception. They answered questions and offered wonderful suggestions for where to eat. I stayed from 8/9 to 8/24 2025, and couldn’t have asked for more from a wonderful two-week visit. Some travelers with extensive experience might find the hotel modest in appearance, but my room was comfortable and very well cleaned, with a wonderful bed and shower and access to CNN.

The lobby felt cozy and welcoming as soon as I walked in. Hotel Aurora is a 32-room family-run place in Nuuk’s old industrial district, about a 10-15 minute walk from downtown, or a short taxi ride when the Arctic winds are strong. My room was compact but smartly equipped, with a private bathroom with floor heating, a desk, electric kettle, hairdryer, and a comfy bed. It was spotlessly clean.
