The pool and bar were both nice, and the staff were friendly, though most seemed to be teenage girls. The hotel feels past its prime even though most things are basically fine. The balcony doors were difficult to close and the bathroom could use new tiles. There were maybe ten guests in a 100-room hotel during the winter high season. Breakfast was basic, and at dinner there was no menu. The chicken option was like KFC-style pieces, nice enough, but not the choice I’d hoped for.

The gardens were very well kept, the place was spotlessly clean, and both the pool and the empty beach were clean too. The staff were lovely, and I’d definitely stay again. It brought back memories of my visit in 1988, and I had a lovely two days. It could use some life brought back, since this was once a very popular hotel. A good spot for a night or two if you want to explore banjul.

The pool was green and stagnant, and check-in took a long time. Restaurant staff seemed stretched thin, and by 7:30 pm many items on the menu weren't available.
