Le Jardin Malanga

The meals were the highlight for us. Breakfast each day brought fresh baked goods, fruit, and yogurt, while dinner was an intimate three-course meal. The chef was amazing and worked around our allergies and preferences. Our hostess was friendly and helpful, and her English was great, which helped since we only know a little French. We came for our honeymoon and loved the room, especially the porch hammock, which fit both of us. The property is spacious and secluded, with wonderful views of the mountains and nearby islands. We couldn't have chosen a better place.

The pool and its view were amazing. I also loved settling into a book in the main house living room, which is decorated with real taste and has that same lovely view in the background. The staff were professional and warm, and made us feel at home. We had a brilliant stay and would be very happy to come back when we get the chance.

The porch that wraps around the house was a lovely spot for sunset, and the pool makes the most of the view. The colonial era house is beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, and the setting feels idyllic. Raphaëlle & Emilien were welcoming managers who arranged a really good dinner each evening. I went snorkeling at Vieux-Fort and hiked up La Soufrière, with plenty to do nearby. This small boutique 'hotel' is a place where you can switch off and relax as if you were at home. I travel both solo and with family, and it suited both kinds of trips. I’d love to return with my wife and daughter someday. Highly recommend!

Before we’d even settled into our cottage, the manager (ms Blanc) had sorted out our plans to climb the volcano. They even served us breakfast early on the day we went. The service was perfect, and we appreciated the personal honeymoon message, too. We also thoroughly recommend dinner. Chef Emilien turns local ingredients into incredible meals. Because he uses fresh, local produce, there isn’t a huge variety of ingredients, but each dinner felt different and was great. This was our first stop in Guadaloupe, and an incredible one. If we return to Guadaloupe, we’ll certainly come back.
