Apart-Hotel Thinalos Apartments, Corfu

Breakfast was really good, with a lovely range of choices and fresh omelettes made to order on most mornings. The pool area was peaceful, well maintained and usually quiet, with no trouble getting a sunbed. The bar staff were kind and helpful, and the staff in general were very friendly. There were some sharp, damaged tiles around the small pool’s edge, possibly where the flooring had been replaced. Our huge top-floor room had a large double bed and two sofa beds for the children. There’s enough space to divide the sleeping areas for a bit more privacy. The shower was the main problem: the temperature kept swinging between hot and cold, sometimes there was no hot water, and the pressure fluctuated. A couple of times I gave up and used the shower by the pool because it was difficult to wash the children safely. We reported it several times, and were eventually told it happened when other people were showering at the same time. The sealant at the bottom of the shower was grimy, the drain needed attention, and some tiles around the basin tap were broken, though that was mostly cosmetic. The hotel is close to the beach and beach bars and restaurants, with shops and more restaurants along the main road nearby. We had a really pleasant stay and were sorry to leave. We’d happily return if the shower issue were fixed.

The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful without hovering, and by day three they even had me speaking like an old Greek lady. The hotel is well located, about a three-minute walk to the beach or the main strip with shops, restaurants and bus stops. We booked a last-minute holiday at Thinalos hotel last month. The recently upgraded rooms and pool area were better than we expected, and the hotel and facilities were super clean. Breakfast was fabulous, with lots of choice. Thanks, guys, we’d definitely stay again.

The rooms and pool were spotless, and the location is very close to the beach. Breakfast was fresh with lots of choice. But the bartender was rude and unprofessional, leaving us waiting several minutes before taking our order. Our shower water ran very slowly and wouldn’t stay at one temperature. It would turn boiling hot, then ice cold, then stop for minutes. We were on the first floor; our friends on the ground floor had water pressure problems less often, if at all. The rooms also had very poor soundproofing, so we could hear the neighbours. I can’t recommend the hotel at this point. If they fix the shower water issue, it could be worth staying, but being unable to shower in reasonable conditions in a four-star hotel in 2025 doesn’t seem acceptable to me.

Such a peaceful, beautiful hotel. Just one issue: sometimes the shower can’t manage warm water and strong pressure at the same time. It’s manageable, though.
