Nireas Resort Corfu

The location near the sea and main road is good, with nice views of the Albanian mountains from the seaside. The rooms are basic and a bit dated, and air conditioning costs extra, but everything is clean and looked after. We’ve just left, and it’s a decent place, not a five-star hotel. I’d 100% recommend coming here.

We had a fantastic week at the nireas apartments. It’s on a quiet road between the main road and the beach, with plenty of lovely restaurants and bars in both directions. Acharavi is fairly quiet, so nireas suits anyone looking for a safe, peaceful resort. It’s only a 2/3 star apartments, so don’t expect too much unless you’ve paid five-star prices. There are a few minor issues, but the price, great staff, general tidiness and cleaning, and huge pool should keep most people happy. They certainly did for me.

The pool never got really full while we were there, and it’s a little under 5ft deep, which is good for adults who don’t like deep water. Air conditioning cost 10€ a day, which wasn’t too much, though it would be 20€ a day for a two-bedroom apartment. There are lots of cats, well looked after by the owners. We bought cat food at the shop and put some out for them every day, along with water. You get what you pay for, and probably a bit more, since the hotel wasn’t expensive. We had a balcony door that wouldn’t lock, but wedging it shut from inside was an easy fix. That’s why I’ve taken off a star. If you want a 5* hotel, this isn’t for you. Corfu is beautiful and the people are lovely. We’ll definitely come back.

The poolside area was great and never too crowded, and the staff were really laid-back and friendly. The location is handy, between the beach and town. We arrived in the evening to find the reception closed, which made our apartment hard to find. The apartment was basic and the shower water was quite tepid.
