Galanis Rooms

We had a wonderful three-night stay. It's well lit at night, and a very nice older gentleman next door gave us great advice about things to see and do. The room was clean and spacious, the A/C worked well, and check-in was easy. The location is great, only about 10 minutes from the port, and there's plenty of free parking.

The location was okay, but the hill is rather dark, so I wouldn't recommend it for solo travelers. We booked a “sea view” room that actually looked over a junkyard and a cemetery. The bathroom drain made the room smell awful for most of our stay, and the kitchen wasn't very well equipped. There was no “don't disturb” sign, so the rooms were serviced even when you didn't want anyone to come in. Staff weren't on site all the time, which made them hard to reach, and there was no safe in the room. We also had no hot water for a whole day because the weather was cloudy and there was no sun.

The owners were kind and attentive, and the rooms were large, bright, and very clean. It's a full house with a kitchen and living room, which was perfect for our family. The place is a little off the beaten path, but only a short walk from the Port and two minutes from the beach.

The photos bear little resemblance to what we found. The room is depressingly small, the toilet door is broken, and there were no towels for a shower. We waited 45 minutes after calling twice before someone brought them, and he seemed not to care about our complaints. We were also told a couple of hours after checking in that we had to walk uphill for 1 km from the port, with nobody available to help carry our luggage to the second floor. It’s way overpriced, and there’s no one to talk to. I don’t recommend it.
