Papikinou Studio

The quiet setting and closeness to Papikinou Beach were a plus if you want to relax by the sea. Papikinou Studio is a modest, budget-friendly place with adequately clean rooms and the basic amenities for a comfortable stay. The friendly host welcomed us and tried to communicate with gestures and a warm smile, despite the language barrier. It’s a bit far from the center of Adamas, which makes walking into town take a while. Getting a taxi can also be difficult because of the remote location. The facilities aren’t luxurious, but the peaceful surroundings and clean room made it a suitable, simple option for travelers watching their budget.

It was an amazing place, but a little dirty. The view was pretty, and there was extra food in the cupboards. Someone brought in an extra couch, and we were given an opened bottle of water. The deck had been swept, though the dirt was left in a corner. The freezer had some extra gunk in it, but it did come with a cute orange basket. We booked two rooms, but couldn’t use one of them for an hour, and that turned into a day and a half. The old man speaks no English, hits on our children, and brought us vodka with lemon juice on his scooter. Some minor inconveniences: the power didn’t work, there was no toilet paper, the toilet wouldn’t flush, the shower smelled, and the linens weren’t actually on. He kissed my friend’s neck.

The place was clean but very plain, and we felt we paid too much for it. The listing made it look like it was on the beach, but the photos I uploaded show it’s several hundred meters inland. The whole place is tiled and seems to get hosed out now and then, with water damage or rust at the bottom of all the furniture. It’s about a 30-minute walk to town, so get a car, four-wheeler, or something.

We arrived to find the place locked and nobody there. We’d already paid through booking dot com and had tried to arrange for someone to meet us at the ferry, but got no reply. A stranger on the street ended up helping us.
