Galeana Beach Hotel

On our first vacation day, I found glass pieces in the beer at the beach restaurant. One large piece was in one of our beers, and another small one could easily have been swallowed. We'd already had three beers by then, and I don't know how many shards might have been in the freezer. This is serious. The staff didn't seem to care, and there was no apology or anything. Warning.

Galeana Beach Hotel has the essentials and a welcoming feel. It seems like a well-regarded choice for travelers after a quiet break by the beach.

The rooms were clean and the pool was kept in good shape. The old manager, though, was cranky and unpleasant with adults as well as children. He yelled at kids for jumping into the pool a minute before 10. When a guest's toast got stuck in the toaster and he tried to remove it, the old man came over shouting as if someone had set the place on fire. The guest apologized and explained what had happened, but that only made the manager more aggressive. He returned three times to humiliate the guest in front of everyone. It's a shame this guy runs the place.

The pool and the sandy beach right in front of the hotel are why I'd give it 2 stars. We were told we'd have a Seaview room, and confirmed it would be one of the front rooms. When we arrived, they put us in a middle room with practically NO Seaview. There was maybe a 5% blue view behind some umbrellas, and only if you stood on the balcony. They admitted they'd changed the room, then had the nerve to call these rooms SEAVIEW rooms. The breakfast was about as poor as it could be. I wouldn't trust them with my vacation.
